the winds of change

it is amazing to see how quickly the water conditions of Lake Michigan can change. Sunday and Monday there was very little wind and the water was quite possibly the calmest I have ever seen.

through the night and into today, strong winds from the north northwest have been blowing across the lake and have generated large rolling waves that are crashing all along the beach.

this picture is from earlier this morning and doesn’t even do justice to the crashing waves out there now.
