plate of sushi for baydog

Baydog, sorry to tease you with that last post about a California roll!  to make up for it, here’s our sushi dinner from a couple weekends ago.  my parent’s were in town for a short weekend, and we took them to Shiro Restaurant & Sushi Bar.  per their website, “Shiro” is Japanese for “white” or “castle” – and the restaurant is located inside of the historic (and haunted?) Rogers Mansion, also called the White House Manor.

for dinner, we started with a few appetizer’s: miso soup, edamame, and some shrimp and vegetable tempura.  but here is our main sushi plate (from left to right):

  • Unagi roll – BBQ river eel, cucumber, and avacado
  • Salmon on the beach (2 rolls) – avocado, crab meat, cream cheese with baked salmon, and sweet cream sauce
  • Philadelphia roll – smoked salmon and cream cheese on a California roll
  • Tamago – rolled egg with rice

Let’s re-name the third roll the “California here I come” roll. In honor of someone who reads this blog. Thanks, TG, for the shout-out.

Jealous! Looks amazing, and delicious. Wish we had sushi here, cause now I’m craving it!
