Baydog, sorry to tease you with that last post about a California roll! to make up for it, here’s our sushi dinner from a couple weekends ago. my parent’s were in town for a short weekend, and we took them to Shiro Restaurant & Sushi Bar. per their website, “Shiro” is Japanese for “white” or “castle” – and the restaurant is located inside of the historic (and haunted?) Rogers Mansion, also called the White House Manor.
for dinner, we started with a few appetizer’s: miso soup, edamame, and some shrimp and vegetable tempura. but here is our main sushi plate (from left to right):
- Unagi roll – BBQ river eel, cucumber, and avacado
- Salmon on the beach (2 rolls) – avocado, crab meat, cream cheese with baked salmon, and sweet cream sauce
- Philadelphia roll – smoked salmon and cream cheese on a California roll
- Tamago – rolled egg with rice
