just a few days ago, I saw this sweet how-to video posted over at the Sunfish Forum for doing your own fiberglass repair to fix leaks or hull damage to your Sunfish.
doug does a sweet job of narrating the process and putting the video together, and makes the whole process look pretty simple! and, all this from a first-timer, no less!
This is a video of a repair I made to one of my early 1970’s sunfish that had a split in the hull underneath the cockpit.
For me this was a first time fiberglass repair.
And no, the fish won’t notice. I didn’t think I was going to watch the entire video, but ended up doing just that. I’ve dabbled in fiberglass repair, but I was never that organized and always managed to glass something together unknowingly.

baydog, I’m about the same… I fiddled with some fiberglass years ago (actually to fix up an old VW Beetle), but haven’t dared cut holes in one of my Sunfish yet. I’m thinking I might have to give it a try, though.

Nice link. I just bought two fish and noticed one has this same issue from being on a trailer.
